Fullhouse @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng

First heard about Fullhouse Lifestyle Store and Cafe many months back. First outlet located at Ara Damansara, a place which is very crowded in my opinion....It has opened another outlet near my office at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng opposite the Old Town kopitiam. Not sure whether this is a new outlet or the first one in Ara Damansara is closed?????

Was very eager to try it out after knowing it has opened its door during end of November 2009. Not many people know it has opened by then so visitors were lesser...Fullhouse is famous for its cosy and "white-y" ambience...something like fairy tale....and i like it's environment which is very ideal for some chit-chat and get-together....

Was there with Sheng for dinner, both of us decided to have a light meal so we were sharing these...
Mushroom soup - RM8.90
Very rich in flavour and i like the strong hints of mushroom, it would be better if the soup is thicker!

Lavender Lemon Blended - RM6.90
Honey Milk Ice - RM5.90
The lavender lemon blended was very appetising, but a bit too sweet for me though....

Rome Salad - RM12.90
Crunchy salad with smoked salmon, but we felt that the salmon slice portion given was way too stingy...haha....

Club Sandwich - RM13.90
Toasted sliced bread with cheese, ham, vege and chicken strips
Quite a filling sandwich
Paid another visit here again for lunch with my other team member, opted to try their set lunch which range from RM13.90 - RM18.90, comes with mushroom soup, ice lemon tea, a main course and pastry....A very filling set lunch if you ask me!!!

Honestly their ice lemon tea was very very nice! And big glass too!

1 of the main course
Spaghetti......can't remember the name
A bit watery but tasted fine...no complain from TW

Another main course
Something cooked with dory fish
accompanied by mashed potato and some wild mushroom
Love the gravy very much...very gingery...
Dory fish was fresh and aromatic too....

The desserts - small pieces of cakes
We got macha, blueberry, chocolate and mango mousse
Not too bad but we were a bit too full to indulge on this....

It does provide car jockey service due to limited parking space available. FOC during opening period but not sure whether they will impose charges in future.... I am sure this place will become another favourite hang out place for our office mate ~~

Netball Match @ IAFG

Netball was 1 of the many sports that i involved during school times, be it primary or secondary school. Still remember how the coach shouted here and there while coaching us the rules and scolded us for the mistakes :P Well...good old days....
I started to play this game again since last year, thanks to the Inter Accounting Firm Games (a.k.a. IAFG). This year's involvement was my second. Our firm registered to join in this game, and the captain started to gather the employees in our firm who is interested to play. Well, i was super duper busy during the training period but i would think that, sports play an important role in our life too! Haha....

We had our training session at Kompleks Sukan Kampung Pandan twice a week for a consecutive 4 weeks. A complete netball team requires 7 players from each team, and we would need 14 players for each session. However, we always faced difficulty in getting the complete 14 players to play. Since the training session was at the sports complex, we managed to play with another group of working people who happened to have netball training at the same venue. We even played with a gang of sprinters (majority were guys!!!).....

Contrary to last year where we had a coach to monitor us (thanks Stacy!), this year we were all on our own! No idea on the exact rules and regulations, no coach on field meaning we may not take training seriously (hehe..) and so on.... But hey! Miracles happened this year! We managed to enter semi final of the netball match and it was totally out of our expectation! It's a historic moment for our firm....

The Team
Jenny, Sin Lay, Sook Ching, Mida, Mie, FeMei, Hoh Yan, Sylvia and Wai Shin

This picture was taken just before the qualifying match. All looked excited and fresh!

This was taken after the match...we were all wet as we played in the rain @_@
Truly excited after managed to enter semis!

Mie as GD - Goal Defend

Good Pair of D

Oh well, we lose to EY during the semis, but we had fun! Enjoyed the environment though, the spirit where we couldn't find during work time. I still got to go back work after the semis by the way...poor Mie....haha....
Netball again next year? Hmm...we shall see....

Passion Road

Being working around Jalan Yap Kwan Seng close to 6 years, i have witnessed the opening of many restaurants within the vicinity. From posh mamak to high end restaurants, you could find many types of eateries, serving different type of cuisine.
Lunch has always been a critical decision to be made among us lunch kakis. You can't imagine us to spend much on lunch everyday in these eateries, right? There are many cafes around our office, but bet you, sometimes we are bored with all the same food, same place, same.....whatever.
Thinking what to eat yesterday for lunch, ManMan gave us the brilliant idea.....

We were here for lunch

A private dining & exclusive function venue in Kuala Lumpur that glows with pride & sheer elegance... that's PASSION ROAD. PASSION ROAD provides an unparallel haute culture and service to create the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable event. This oasis of tranquility is a time & place of its very own...time to experience & indulge in the comfort of pure luxury in a total harmony with nature. The best kept culinary secrets behind our authentic cuisines are exquisitely and intricately presented with a touch of 'PASSION' ! Feed and explore your cravings through our diverse Asian or Western gastronomic styles, our own creative and dedicated chefs would specially concoct only the best...just for you!

Passion Road mostly caters to function and event. I remembered the wedding (or engagement??) of Erra Fazira (if i am not mistaken) was held here. I love their interior decoration. Good ambience for a small gathering among friends or family.

Probably thinking to earn extra during day time and not to waste the beautiful setup of the restaurant, Passion Road has introduced Set Lunch at an affordable price....which perfectly caters to us working people...
They have 2 different set lunch. Standard set lunch at RM9.90 (drinks, main, desserts) and Premium set lunch at RM15 (drinks, appetiser, main, desserts). They will change the set lunch in every 3-4 days, so probably we can savour different foods during each visit...

Lime juice
same drink offered in either set lunch

Option of noodles in Standard set lunch
Burmese Laksa
Droooling looking at the presentation

Another option in Standard Set Lunch
...... Fried Rice (sorry can't remember the name :P)

Main course for Premium set lunch
Nasi Lemak with either chicken rendang or mutton curry
I chose mutton curry

the appetiser
something like thai salad
i like the tanginess feel. real appetising

Mutton curry laden with lots of rendang gravy
Mutton was tender. This is the way of mutton curry that i like...

Desserts for Premium set
Bread pudding
Didn't manage to eat this. Was too full with the main course of nasi lemak :P
By the way, the desserts for Standard set was Bobo Caca (ok i know it should be read as Bubur Chacha...)

This is a great place for some nice lunch if we are real bored with the food offered around our office. We have a eatery in our office block offering set lunch at RM10 too, but the one offered by Passsion Road is definitely more worth the $$$.

Old Town White Coffee

If you do notice around KL and PJ areas, Old Town White Coffee cafe has been mushrooming here and there. There's even 2 OldTown near my office! Is it because of the demand of this cafe is increasing, compared to previous hip of Starbucks? Or is it because of the love of Malaysian on local foods and coffee? Whatever reason it may be, this cafe has become a household name and it's a frequent yumcha spot for many people....
It has been many months since i last visited Old Town. 6 months? I think more than that. I visited its outlet near my office @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng on last Thursday, and i had a big shock when i look at this.....

Old Town's menu is no doubt extensive with local favourites, sweet delights and its hot and cold beverages. I had a shock when i looked at the price. It has increased by probably 5%-10% (for the item that i ordered). No wonder there is so many Old Town cafe mushrooming. Good margin ehh??

i like their tag line
TAKE YOUR TIME
enjoy your cuppa of coffee

Left - Nanyang Memorably - My fave coffee in Old Town. Bitterness suit me the best.
Right - Xi Mut Milk Tea
The price of beverage starts from at least RM2.80, if i am not mistaken.
OLDTOWN Nasi Rendang Chicken
This is my favourite food in OldTown, as the rendang is cooked to perfection. But i found that it did not taste as flavourful as before, i wonder why....
It was priced at RM7.90/RM8.90, now it is priced at RM9.50, which i think is no longer worth the price...

Javanese Mee
Looks tempted. No complains from Michelle who ate this. But it will be a rather small portion for a guy...

OLDTOWN Prawn Mee

OLDTOWN Curry Laksa

Omega Soft Boiled Eggs
I personally feel that the food quality of OldTown has dropped nowadays, compared to earlier period when they first opened. Based on the information from their official website www.oldtown.com.my , the number of outlets has now reached 121 (as at 29 March 2009), and i think more outlets are opening soon. Probably you are interested to check out the financial requirement to be part of the franchise. I was thinking about this before too, but the requirement seems a bit high for my budget...haha...
Afterall, OldTown is definitely a good hang out place for some chit chat with your buddies...
p.s: OldTown @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng is operating 24 hours. You may expect to bump into us auditors during midnight ^_^

Time for some fun

Realised that most of the group members are all stressed out in work, we decided to partly sponsor the group outing on last Thursday. Having enough of eat drink eat drink session previously, we decided to hold this outing at RedBox Karaoke @ Low Yat Plaza. There are many good singers in our group so we thought this event would be a rather good idea to unwind ourselves after the months long of hard works....

RedBox does have package for big group of pax. We have around 32 pax on the night, and the package came about more than RM1,000. Package included drinks, fruit platters, buffet, and we could sing until 4am in the next morning. What did we find as the most delicious food in RedBox Low Yat?

Ta Daaaa
FRUIT PLATTER !!!
Seriously, i think none of us fancy the buffet spread. It's relatively lesser (much more lesser) choices compared to Neway. Quality of food? Still can eat la, but don't expect too much. That's why i said the most delicious one will be the fruit... :P

Some photos taken on the night...

Package inclusive of free cake, so me and Julie whose birthday falls in June got to cut the cake, much more earlier than our actual birthday!

Ju, why closed your eyes la....

We had lotsa fun listening to the members singing, being those that are really good in singing, or...*ahem ahem*...

We had fun that night, although some left early. Me myself enjoyed singing k, maybe it's the process of releasing stress for myself. Looking forward to the next k session. Anyone interested?
