Nice Mille crepe @ Dessert's Bar

This was a visit to Dessert's Bar @ KLCC outlet during the Xmas week holiday last year when the special one was in town and we went shopping with Mom. We skipped lunch and had tea-time instead, and we settled at this nice eatery after tired of walking :P

Heard of this cafe from blogs, and saw mix comments. Some said it nothing special, some said it fantastic. Well, i was impressed with their desserts collection so here i was =)

Got this after making selection and payment at counter. They will serve us the ordered items....

noticed their signature "no colouring" ice cream...hmm...will try this next time...

We had:

Cappucino

Earl grey tea

Kiwi + mango smoothies

The Cappucino was a pretty small portion for a coffee addict like me, and it was a bit pricy given the size of the coffee. Earl grey was nothing spectacular (tea bag only ma ...haha...) but the smoothies was a surprise! Sourish and sweet enough to perk me up though :)

We just love this very much....

Honestly this was my 1st time savouring mille crepe and i really love it. I cut it by fork and ate it in the stacks of crepe, and also ate it layer by layer....both method of eating still gave me the same satisfaction!

Still remember the taste of the butter cream in between...Yummy!!!

Always heart carrot cake so i ordered this to try.

Personally feel that it was not too bad but i don't like the plenty icing in between :P

I myself feel that the pricing for the drinks here are not worth that much, but it may due to we ordered their non-signature drinks such as coffee and tea. Maybe their signature drinks like fresh smoothies and juices are worth it. Will definitely back for more cakes, crepes and desserts!!

A day out with Regene ~ Winter Warmers Cafe @ The Curve

I went for a shopping day with Regene yesterday at The Curve. We are cousin sis, school mate, room mate and tuition mate before but we never happen to hang out together, at only 2 of us. Lucky i had this opportunity to spend some quality time with her before moving down south...

We decided to have a hi-tea instead of lunch, so we headed to Winter Warmers, a cafe that i have been knowing for many years, yearning to try for so many times, until finally managed to step in to this awesome cafe yesterday....

We ordered Afternoon Tea Set @ RM29.90

The set comes with selection of black tea for each person, but we can choose to upgrade to other beverages by the additional RM1...

Honestly this was the very first time i tried English afternoon tea set, so let's see what's in there...

Butter and chocolate cookies

Crunchy and very fragrant with its rich butter taste...guilty after eating this!

2 pieces of cakes

Chocolate and orange cheese (if i'm not mistaken)

The choc cake was very moistful and rich in chocolatey taste, while the orange cheese had a little sourish taste...

The lowest part, we had scones and sandwhiches

The sandwich was a little bit dry (the bread), so-so only

I like the scone, i am a scone lover. Too bad they didn't provide the cream, only butter and jam given. It would have tasted better with cream...

Managed to get 2 complimentary ice-cream voucher from New Zealand Natural from the wheel-spin at The Curve. The first time i tried this ice-cream brand tooo....

Yogurt berry and Chocloate Ecstasy (their star seller)

The chocolate ecsrasy was very sinful, very rich in chocolate taste!

Another good option for ice-cream other than Haagen Dazs and Baskin Robbins...

The battle of Hong Kong Desserts ~ Tin Pan GoGo vs Honeymoon Desserts ~

The special one was in town for the past 2 weekends and one of our favourite past times was desserts time ie 糖水时间... haha... We have tried 3 famous desserts shop in town ie KTZ, TinPan GoGo and Honeymoon Desserts, and numerous occasions been made to TinPan GoGo as well. Am not going to comment on KTZ since it has been established for many years in town and i have blogged about it before. Am going to comment on the 2 HongKong desserts shop that have made its presence in the market these 2 years....

The foochok already been dissolved completely, generous amount of ginkgo provided too.

Not too bad but a bit sweet to my liking...

核桃露 + 汤圆 (Walnut sweet soup + glutinous ball) - RM7.00

The glutinous ball was perfect with the sesame fillings but the walnut sweet soup was too sweeeeeet! Or am i not used to this sweet soup?

花生糊 Peanut sweet soup - RM5.50

Good but the pomelo a bit bitter la..... apparently i found it a bit pricy for such a small bowl

Behind was the Taufoofar+Almond sweet soup, which he found the combination a bit weird and i hate the taste of almond sweet soup!

Sweet potato boiled until very soft but the sweet soup was extremely "hot" with the ginger taste!

I personally feel that the pricing by these 2 desserts house is a bit steep, but they do really provide a rather good service and a lot of varieties of desserts provided, just like the way i have seen during my visit to Hong Kong. Definitely will go back for more desserts!

Black Charcoal Swiss Roll

What do you think is this????

Was buying some egg tarts from Tong Kee Confectionery @ Sri Petaling on last Saturday, my eyes were directed to this....it's black in color, and it's kept in fridge. It's called Black Charcoal Swiss Roll....Apa itu Black Charcoal??? Go google search la...haha... Well, many bakeries in town have introduced Black Charcoal bread. I have yet to try that, but i decided to try this Black Charcoal Swiss Roll out of curiosity....

I was staring at it before i finally wallop it. Wondering how it tasted at first, i found it really fluffy, smooth and silky. Wonder how they manage to bake the swiss roll until this quality. Was it because of the black charcoal effect? Not really sure... The swiss roll is actually very small in size, they do offer the standard size swiss roll but i bought the mini swiss roll. It's priced at RM3.20 for this mini roll, which i thought was over priced at first, but now i understand it's worth the price...

Want some Kacang Putih???

Malaysia is really a lovely country. We set aside the political issues which are always a hot topic in newspapers. As a Malaysian, i am amazed on the diversity of culture shown here. Malay, Chinese, Indian and so on. We do not need to travel all the way to other country if we wanted to savour each other's delicacies. Among so many types of food in Malaysia, i believe majority's favourite would be this....

~~ Kacang Putih ~~

Kacang Putih stall has always capture my attention whenever i see it. With so many kinds of variety, be it nuts, muruku, chips and so on, my eyes can't stop looking at it.

But my mind has always telling me not to indulge in it, since it's quite heaty and oily....

Sadly, i was unable to stand the temptation anymore on last Wednesday. Got myself a pack of this, which is always my favourite....

Japanese Chiffon Cake @ Les Toast Puchong

Puchong is really a good place for "cari makan". There are just too many good eateries around Puchong, which until now i have not been able to try. There is a particular bakery which was opened somewhere last year (if i am not mistaken) and i will definitely get something from there whenever i am around the bakery...

Les Toast uses Japanese baking techniques to bring out the bread and cakes that are healthy and low sugar content. I have tried their breads and cakes before, and i am definitely in love with it.

It has been visited by HoJiak programme at 8TV sometime back, mainly to introduce the Japanese Chiffon Cake. This cake is very popular and they only sell limited number each day. I always ended up going back disappointed as it is sold out everytime i wanted to get one home. I think luck was with me on last Friday, cos it was just being readily baked and push out for sale! And it's fresh from oven!

The size of this chiffon cake is rather small compared to the normal chiffon cake that we normally see, and it costs RM5.50 each...

It uses only pure cocoa powder, making it simply irresistable...

It was very fluffy, rich in chocolate taste, and i just can't get enough of it.

If not because of watching my weight, i think i can wallop the whole cake!

Honestly, very Yummy!

I heated it in toaster for a while and it tasted good. The filling is not too sweet and the pastry is very crunchy as well...Good!

This is cupcakes' box bought by Mandy...didn't try it though but it looks nice...

Black Pepper Crab...in a cup!

I bought this out of curiosity...

Got it from Carrefour and wonder how it tasted. Got home late on one day after work so that was when the Black Pepper Crab noodle ended up in my stomach...

It looks like this....

Seasoning, dried crab filament stick, garnishing oil, dried noodle.

Follow instructions given on the cup and wait wait wait....

The Meal

Half cup of dried noodle, with black pepper crab flavour!

Good try by the way =)

MSG laden....drank a lot of water after this!

p.s.: still find Nissin cup noodle the best ^_^ Gotta stock this up for the coming peak period...

Tong Kee Egg Tarts

Was around Sri Petaling to have dinner before headed to LeeHom concert yesterday at Bukit Jalil. We then remembered that Tong Kee Confectionary is around the area and drop by to get some egg tarts and other pastries....

The ever popular egg tarts in Klang Valley. Tong Kee Egg Tarts 棠记蛋挞

Crispy edge, flaky and thin crust, soft and smooth egg fillings, sweetness to my liking.... you just want to grab more and more, BEWARE! This is also a favourite among my family members and colleagues...so you can understand how popular this egg tart is......

It must be their secret recipe that made this egg tarts so wonderful. I baked western version egg tarts before but not chinese version like this. For those who "give face" to take my offer last time, thanks so much! Well, not too bad, right? Practice makes perfect so i am going to bake again soon, very soon......

Pan Bun 铁板包

I miss this so much............

Have been searching high and low around KL and PJ after i first tried it in Taman Rampai night market......as i am not staying there, it's kinda difficult for me to adjust my time to suit the night market timing....so i ended up not eating it for almost 4-5 years.....SIGH!

Can you imagine if you can't eat your favourite food or snack for that long? Oh my god! And because not many people is selling it nowadays, it makes me frustrated too cos i never know when is the next time i can savour this again....sob sob......

Out of curiosity, we dropped by at a food court near Sungai Mas building, Jalan Ipoh. Suddenly, something caught my attention! It was the 铁板包 (not sure what it calls in English, let's call it as Pan Bun)! I love this so much....OMG i really don't know why. Well sometimes you just can't explain why you love someone or something so much, so don't need to explain la....

The Pan Bun is a chinese style bun, stuffed with a variety of fillings. This stall sells Pan Bun with the fillings of peanut, red bean, chicken floss, charsiew, kaya and coconut. I tried the peanut and chicken floss and it tasted yummy! Only RM0.70 per piece....i will go back for more! It may look and taste normal for some people but for me, it's like a traditional delicacy which is hardly to get nowadays...that's why i love it!

And the good news is, the food court is only merely 10 minutes from my condo so i can drop by to get some whenever i crave for it. YES!
