Sushi Tei @ Tropicana City Mall

Sushi Tei is a Japanese chain restaurant from Singapore. First heard about it last year but only managed to try it today, to celebrate Wai Yee's birthday, 1 of my best buddy in KL....Some say its foods are so-so, some say excellent. Well, we'll see how it goes....

What they offered is pretty much the same with other Japanese chain, with a few "new" items that we never seen in other restaurant...at least they serve sea urchin here (which is very NOT affordable for me lah....haha....)

Hot Ocha for us 3

Birthday girl ^^

Salmon Carpaccio RM10.80
Seared salmon with soy sauce (or sesame?), topped with alfalfa
Very fresh. Like it very much...

Chicken Katsu Soba
While the soba tasted good with a very clear and sweet soup, the chicken katsu somehow let us down with its dryness. Prefer it to be more juicy...

Salmon belly sushi (at behind) RM6.00
Salmon roll with 3 kinds of different ebiko (forgot the price)
All i can say is good. Amazing.

Grilled scallop with mayonaise
The sauce has a hint of garlic, and it's pretty filling up the tummy after eating this. Some kind of "jelak". Ended up we ate the chicken katsu together with the sauce and it tasted pretty good too...

Grilled salmon with cod roe RM15.80
Thumbs up for this!
The salmon was not overly grilled, just perfect to be eaten together with the cod roe on top. Cod roe was smooth and silky enough, a perfect combination!
I am craving more for this!

Chawanmushi ordered by the birthday girl, which we found it just normal

We also ordered the Grilled squid which was giant in size. Not up to our expectation, still had it chewy-ness, but the teriyaki sauce provided was not enough leh...haha...

^^ Us ^^
Happy Birthday Wai Yee !

Babe's bday celebration @ Bella Italia

We have a few Jimui whose birthday falls in July. Why July is such a productive month ah??? Having no idea where to celebrate, i suggested Bella Italia @ SS2 which i blog before, and they agreed since i kept on saying it's a very lovely and homey Italian restaurant, and most of them never visited there before....

Birthday girl I
Lily with her beloved husband, Chee Loong (i hope i spell it correct :P)

Birthday girl II
Meagan (Left) with Charmaine

Birthday girl III
Regene with Mie
The cousins always end up sitting together..haha...

Regene, Mie, Satine

Ok, let's see what we had on that night....We got everyone to order 1 dish each, ended up our table was so full with foods ~~~~

Mushroom soup which i strongly recommended, and they gave thumbs up too...

Forgot the name of this soup, something with italian name

A kind of seafood soup which looked like tomyam. Like the tanginess and the generous amount of seafood, expect mussels, lala, squid, prawn and so on.....

We love this very much
Fried button mushroom
Crispy on the outside. Like the accompanied salad sauce too...

Their signature pizza
Thin crust pizza, a bit dry in my opinion.

Seafood lasagna
Like the cheesiness!!!

Salmon fettucini/linguini
Awesome! Very nice...

This is spaghetti with fried chicken strips
A bit spicy, and the sauce is a bit watery. Quite flavourful though, but the chicken strip was way bit a lil hard...

My all time favourite
Lamb Shank
Lamb was cooked perfectly well, very tender...
We love the sauce too...next time must get some garlic bread to go with!
Portion is a bit too much for 1 person, but we were sharing...

Grilled Salmon
Normal, but well marinated though....

Some kind of beef fillets
Very juicy and tender, yum yum!

The Spread
All were so full!

~ Us ~
Merry Merry birthday to 3 lovely ladies

We were full but still have a little room for lovely desserts...hehe...
Just can't resist the temptation of their TIRAMISU !!
We then wanted to adjourn to Murni which is just next door but couldn't find any empty table, although the number of tables has spread across row of shops! So we ended up to Leo's cafe, where Yoon Li joined us and we hang around..... Till we fix another gathering again my lovely Jimuis!

Big Boss Birthday Lunch @ Demaw Restaurant

This is a backlog post, so happen that i forgot to blog :P ... It's a norm for the managers in our office to celebrate our bosses' birthday every year, and it's also A NORM for Mie and Elvina to be the organiser. Sigh....why can't others volunteer themselves....... It's our big boss birthday @ 26 June 2009, so as usual, a birthday lunch for him ^^

Demaw Restaurant
Tucked in a small lane just next to Wisma PGRM at Cheras.
You will not be able to notice this restaurant without being introduced.
The chef has won a few culinary awards and there is only 12 tables in the restaurant itself, with each table being labeled with the 12 chinese horoscopes...interesting...
This restaurant has become our favourite place for lunch since few years ago, but we seldom visit it anymore as it's quite far from our office at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. It's the birthday boy request to have his birthday lunch here, so here we were.....

Claypot Homemade Tofu with Meatballs

This is our MUST ORDER dish

Soft and silky tofu with the juicy meatballs (pork), stewed with their special sauce

Best eaten with rice.....

Fried HongKong Kai Lan with Salted fish

The salted fish has somehow enlightened the dish. Crunchy kailan...
~ Love it ~

Steam Ikan Bawal
Fresh as expected

"Lai Niu Ha"
Stri fried with okra, onions and chilis
Very appetising...Lai Niu Ha is awesomely delicious..at least we do not need to tear it by our own ... hahaha...

Stewed Pork with Tapioca Cake
Something new to us...like the gravy very much. Meat was very tender and juicy too...
It's something like "Dong Po" meat

My favourite
Grilled Lamb Chop with Red Wine Sauce
Yummy yummy~~~
Ok, the photo may not look tempting but if you trust me, you should give it a try....

The aftermath
After all the cholestrol and calories ~~~~
Overall satisfying...as ever....
Never let us leaving disappointed......
Total charges - approximately RM550 for 2 tables of 10 pax each, inclusive of a small pot of Goose feet specially for the birthday boy.
I personally think that it's not overprice, given the quality of food maintained.

Madam Kwan's @ KLCC

It was KN's birthday end of June and I treated him to a birthday dinner at Madam Kwan's @ KLCC. Oh well, the dinner wat at KLCC again since we need to continue our work in office after that T________T. Anyway, at least we had a good dinner before we went back...hehe...

The restaurant has been established for many many years, and it has well expanded to a few branches at Pavilion, Bangsar and Midvalley. It serves local and western delights, truth to be told, the prices here are not cheap, but it's for a reason...
You are paying at a premium to eat at a nicely decorated, air-conditioned eatery and be served by friendly, helpful staff with super quick order to serving time.
Our feast ^_^
I like this - Acar
RM7.80
The sourness has picked up my appetite...hehe...
Vege was crunchy enough..Good!
Reminds me of the acar made by my neighbour at hometown @_@
KN's Ice Milk - He is definitely a milk lover =)
Mie's Fresh Ice Mango Juice - Thick and juicy mango juice...slurrrppp~ ~ And it's very filling tooooo
Assam Laksa - RM12.90
Awesomely delicious!
The shrimp paste was provided separately so you can put the amount that you want.
Generous amount of ingredients, full with fish meat, like the tanginess of the soup....
A rather big bowl to Mie....could't finish :P

Madam Kwan's signature dish
Nasi Bojari - RM21.50
Combination fo 3 coloured rice served with assam prawns, beef rendang and deep fried chicken drumstick.
I like the typical Malay cooking style of the beef rendang, very fragrant. Deep fried chicken fried to perfection, crispy outside yet the flesh was tender and juicy, and it did not taste oily...The prawn looked succulent....
Birthday boy enjoying his meal

KN, Blessed birthday to you!
All the best in your undertakings!
I hope you had a blast with your loved one!

My B'day treat (V) - Little Taiwan @ Avenue K

Another birthday treat on last Monday, this round was from KN, a very good mate of mine in office. We went to a quick dinner at Little Taiwan @ Avenue K since we need to go back office to work after that T_________T

Pearl Milk Tea & YinYong Pearl Milk Tea

I tried the Pearl Milk Tea before which was good. I tried the YinYong Pearl Milk Tea that night and ended up couldn't sleep! What a strong caffeine effect! But it was good afterall!

Lion's Head 狮子头

It's actually pork meat ball, and this was really flavourful. The meatball was very chewy. Good!

KN's Chicken Chop rice

Chicken chop was tender, and the rice was topped with the braised meat sauce that Taiwanese fancied

Meat Dumpling
Normal...

Dan Dan Noodle 担担面
Soup noodles with some braised meat, braised egg and some salted vege
I like this version of noodle, not too heavy, if only we eat it on its own!
Ended up couldn't finish it cos we ordered too much for only 2 of us !

Sesame Prawn Toast
Something new, and it's real nice lo...
Very fragrant~~~

See our table full of foods!
Thanks KN for the lovely dinner... You are adorable ~~~
Read my previous post on Little Taiwan here and here.
A rather cosy place for a decent and affordable Taiwanese cuisine....
